Who operates AhaPeek

Reading without an account

Public articles and books can be read without registering. We do not operate advertising profiles, sell personal information or add third-party marketing trackers to these pages.

Information used for account features

If you choose to sign in with ChatGPT, the hosting platform provides a Site-specific account identifier, email address and, when available, your display name. We use these to identify your account, display your name and restrict the founder’s workspace. AhaPeek stores saved items, reading progress, interests and preferences only when you use those features.

We also store votes, reactions and correction messages you submit, linked to your Site account identifier. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in a correction or feedback message. Email correspondence includes the information you choose to send.

Why we use information

Account information and saved settings provide the features you request. Our basis for this processing is providing that service under these terms. We use our legitimate interests to respond to correspondence, investigate corrections, protect the service and maintain editorial accountability. We consider whether these purposes can be achieved with less information and the effect on readers. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests.

Aggregate reading statistics

We count eligible requests for public pages to understand which content is read. The statistics contain a date, a public page path, a broad source category such as Google or Direct, and a count. Query strings, complete referring URLs, IP addresses, account identifiers and user-agent strings are not stored in the statistics. We do not use analytics cookies, persistent visitor IDs or fingerprinting.

Known bots, prefetches and the founder’s signed-in visits are excluded where identifiable. Requests that carry Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control are excluded. Counts are approximate page requests, not a count of unique people. Aggregate records are retained for up to 365 days and expired records are removed as counting continues.

Browser storage and optional audio

Book readers may remember reading position, text size and bookmarks in your browser. You can remove this information by clearing this site’s browser storage. Signing in may also save progress to your AhaPeek account. Read-aloud uses your browser’s speech feature; whether a voice uses a network service depends on your device and browser. Audio starts only when you choose Listen.

Hosting and other services

AhaPeek uses OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure for hosting, authentication, database storage and image delivery. Those services receive the technical requests needed to deliver pages, such as IP addresses and browser information, and may keep their own operational or security records. This is separate from AhaPeek’s aggregate statistics. External source links take you to other services with their own policies.

Providers may process information outside Norway or the EEA. Their applicable terms explain international-transfer safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where relevant. Read OpenAI’s European privacy policy and Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

How long information is kept

Saved items, progress, preferences and votes are kept while you use the account features, until you remove them or request deletion. Feedback and correspondence are kept while needed to address your request and document an editorial correction or dispute; we review their continued need rather than keeping them indefinitely. Editorial records needed to explain changes to published content may be retained without unnecessary personal details. Provider-managed technical records follow the provider’s retention rules.

DISCLOSURE review-copy requests

If you request an early ebook copy, we store your name, email, channel, profile URL, optional message, consent and request status to select creators and contact you about book one. This is based on your consent. Only the AhaPeek founder can access the list. Your details are not published or added to a general newsletter. We retain requests until the review-copy campaign is complete and for no longer than 12 months after book one launches, unless you withdraw earlier. Email hello@ahapeek.com to withdraw or request deletion. No copy or positive review is guaranteed or required.

Your choices and rights

You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability where applicable, or object to processing. Use the controls below for an export or deletion of your AhaPeek saved data, votes and feedback. For other requests, email hello@ahapeek.com. We may need to verify your identity and will normally respond within one month. You may complain to Datatilsynet or your local data-protection authority.

AhaPeek does not make decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects through automated profiling. AI-assisted editorial publishing produces content; it does not evaluate individual readers. Paid checkout and newsletter delivery are not active. If we introduce a new use of personal information, we will explain it and seek consent where required before enabling it.

Optional Google Analytics

If you allow statistics, Google Analytics measures visits to public pages, page titles and broad traffic sources. Google receives technical information, including your IP address during transmission; GA4 does not store individual IP addresses. We do not send account details, comments, search text, private pages or URL query strings. Advertising features and automatic form tracking are disabled. Analytics cookies last up to six months; your yes or no preference is remembered for up to one year. Consent is optional and can be withdrawn below. Refusing it does not affect reading or account features.

Google processes this information through its international infrastructure; safeguards described in Google’s privacy documentation apply. See Google’s privacy policy. Existing cookie-free aggregate page counts are separate from this optional measurement.
